Ted Hughes Trail: Crimsworth Dean

Andrew Cockroft will lead this walk following a trail devised by Christopher Goddard. The route passes several landmarks that inspired Ted Hughes’ writings, including “The Deadfall”, “Dead Farms, Dead Leaves” and “Six Young Men” (all very dead). Poetry readings will take place at each significant landmark and there will be an opportunity for a wild swim under Lumb Falls, as well as numerous encounters with wildlife. Meet at Midgehole Car Park 10.15 am on Sunday May 25th. The walk is 3.5 miles long. At a leisurely pace with frequent stops, it is expected to take 3.5 hours to complete
